Emma is a Senior Associate and works in the areas of estate administration and estate planning.

Emma brings to her clients a focus on practical outcomes with prompt service delivery and a genuine willingness to understand their situation. Emma’s in depth understanding of estate administration and estate planning as well as her ability to understand diverse and complex scenarios are of real benefit to her clients. In addition, Emma enjoys estate and business succession planning including strategies to mitigate potential taxation implications.

Emma holds a Masters in Law from QUT, and was admitted in November 2008 after completing a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Arts at the University of Qld, and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Queensland University of Technology.

Emma presents for the Queensland Law Society in the areas of estate planning and will drafting, and previously in the area of asset protection and tax. Emma is also a regular guest lecturer at QUT in various areas of Succession Law. She volunteers her time to the Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House (QPILCH) to provide pro-bono legal assistance to individuals within the community.

Before joining de Groots, Emma has practiced in the areas of Succession law, Corporate law, Tax and Superannuation law and Trust law.

Emma is a member of the Queensland Law Society and is also admitted to the High Court of Australia
