Portia Costello is a lawyer practising in estate litigation, estate planning and estate administration.

Portia graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology in 2010 and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2011, and later to the High Court of Australia in 2017.

Portia started out working as a Judge’s Associate in the District Court of Queensland, where she developed her interest in litigation. Portia has since worked in commercial and estate litigation in private practice and as an in-house lawyer for the government.

Portia has over five years experience of appearing at court, tribunal hearings and mediations to negotiate and resolve estate disputes on behalf of her clients.
Portia has acted in a range of proceedings including family provision and statutory will applications.

She has also acted in proceedings relating to the validity of wills and testamentary capacity.
