Esterina works as an Associate at de Groots wills and estate lawyers in the firm’s Sydney office, practising in the areas of estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation.
Esterina was on the Editorial Committee for Dr John de Groot‘s new text ’Wills, Probate and Administration Practice (New South Wales)’, which was launched in October 2017. She authors and co-edits monthly bulletin updates on wills and estate law and practice which are sent to subscribers to the text.
Prior to joining de Groots, Esterina contributed to the School of Law, University of Western Sydney (now Western Sydney University), as a legal research assistant and casual academic. Since 2013, Esterina has assisted in the publication of the university‘s ’Elder Law Review’, Australia’s only refereed journal on elder law. She has also published several articles in the journal.
Esterina maintains her connection with Western Sydney University School of Law as an Adjunct Fellow in Elder Law. She previously graduated from the university with a Bachelor of Laws awarded with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Arts (History and Political Thought) awarded with Distinction, and received the University Medal. Esterina’s Honours paper dealt with the recognition of moral claims in statutory wills in NSW, for which she received an award of Most Outstanding Honours Dissertation.
Esterina is passionate about all aspects of wills, estates and succession law. She brings a compassionate and authentic approach to her clients, and enjoys assisting them to navigate complex estate administration and litigation dilemmas, and to achieve their desired estate planning outcomes. Esterina plans to undertake specialist accreditation in the future.
