Phillip is an Accredited Specialist in Succession Law and has worked exclusively in the areas of wills and estates and their related aspects for nearly 20 years. Prior to pursuing specialist practice his commercial law experience included work in the areas of leasing, securities, conveyancing and small businesses.
He wrote the trust law course materials for the University of Western Sydney College’s Diploma in Financial Services offered in partnership with the Trustee Corporations Association of Australia. He assists Dr John de Groot with updates to the texts of “Wills, Probate and Administration Practice (Queensland)” and “Family Provision in Australia”.
He is a member of STEP, the international Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and formerly sat on the Queensland Law Society’s Specialist Accreditation (Succession Law) Committee.
Phillip’s expertise in creating strategies to protect clients’ wealth means professional advisors (including accountants, lawyers and financial planners) regularly refer their clients to him. He is in demand to give seminars on will making, estate planning and estate litigation to members of the legal profession and other professional bodies, as well as to the public at sessions arranged by charitable organisations.
